Virginia Save Our Streams Training Workshops

Since 1996, we have been supported by public and private grants to train interested citizens to be biological stream monitors. The great majority of those traditional grants have become unavailable since October 2002. We are in a position of having to charge for our training and data management services. At the same time we are developing a fund that we will use to subsidize the cost to those folks who may not be in a position to pay the full amount. Recently we have had two unsolicited contributions from the Beirne Carter Foundation and the Austin Family Foundation. Those generous gifts will begin the Va SOS Training and Support Fund  .

We will charge $500.00 per day per staff trainer plus travel expenses. Workshops that require extensive handouts may have additional charges to reflect these costs. Please do not let the cost deter you from initiating the development of a stream monitoring network. Tell us what you want and we will calculate a cost projection. We will work with you to find a source of support for the project . Thanks!
